Well then, it had been a while since she went out and about, hadn’t it?
The summer season was already on the school and the feeling weighed far heavier than it should have. Most summers left a light feeling in the air but this time was just a little bit different. The calm before the storm, maybe? Medaka thought so. Things seemed far too beautiful and sweet to have lasted. But she realized that this was simply human nature. The Flask Plan was simply human nature.
And human nature meant the greedy desire to grow.
Medaka was the embodiment of that, forever growing and obtaining abilities. If her reason for living was gone—having been stripped away by Zenkichi—then what point was there? Medaka was far from stupid though; surviving was almost a natural instinct. Reflex, if you will. She had learned plenty about reflex thanks to dealing with the Flask Plan…
For the time being things would remain dark but calm. Soon, however, the tide would change and the storm would descend upon the school. Would it be a typhoon? A hurricane? Would hell be unleashed? Somehow she felt that Zenkichi would take care of it. That almost childish sense of confidence in her her friend would forever remain there. He’ll protect the school from whatever storm was about to come.
The only question was how.

「 So you’re planning to leave everything to Zenkichi-chan? Just because you’ve lost your purpose in life — Kurokami Medaka gives up? If I would’ve have known it was this easy, I would’ve just made it become nothing ~ ♪」
A pale hand would be placed on Kurokami Medaka’s left shoulder. Without a doubt, Medaka-chan would know best who this hand belonged to — her incomplete antithesis.
「 Medaka-chan, do you really believe Zenkichi-chan can beat you in a fight? How about Moga-chan? Or Kouki-chan? That’s exactly what this new enemy is, Medaka-chan — you. 」
There was certainly no mistaking Kumagawa’s presence. Though he had become something almost like a friend (more like ally she supposed), they still remained on opposite ends of the human spectrum. So she turned to look at him with not a hint of surprise. His words hardly bothered her.
“I see no reason why I would fight any of them, so I hardly qualify as an enemy.” She turned to him completely to give him more thought, though. Kumagawa wouldn’t just come out and say this. No matter the reason, there was a reason…

No, the question was, what did he get out of it? ”As a student here I take it you are also worried about what the Chairmen has planned for the school. Don’t tell me you’ve already started planning?” It wasn’t so much a question as maybe a hope. Adding more chess pieces into the mix made the paths even more infinite. Though she could easily keep up, her poor mun couldn’t, and that was the sad thing about it.

“Ohh, are you giving in so easily?” I wouldn’t call it giving in so much as being considerate…

“Heh, very well then. You weren’t any good anyways.” Says the both of us.
Medaka continued to stare at the blaring overhead speaker, one hand on her hip and her short hair pulled back into a small ponytail.
“…” Maybe it was just habit, but she was pushing her emotions away in an effort to think logically about all this. Going up against the Chairmen would never be easy, but did she have a place in all this now? For once she had no reason to be after having been stripped of such reason by Zenkichi and the students themselves…
So for the first time she was faced with whether or not to help people of truly her own accord. Thing is, did Zenkichi even need the help? Men were strange beings, and the man that could beat Kurokami Medaka could surely handle this task admirably.

“It won’t be easy, Zenkichi.” She said under her breath as she turned and walked back down the hallway. ”But I think a challenge suits you best.”
end-all-be-all started following you
“Ah, hey Medaka-chan. I figured you’d be off living it up now that you don’t have the responsibilities of being Prez to handle. Not that I’m bothered by you being here…”
“Work comes before play, doesn’t it?” She raised her hand and dismissed the observation. Though she wanted to go back to that carefree life, some things needed to be taken care of. ”You are working hard as Student Council President. I’m proud of you, Zenkichi.”

“I am Kurokami Medaka, though I’m sure you already know that. It has been brought to my attention that I am apparently a ‘Mary Sue.’ If this is meant as an endearing nickname then very well, I find it an acceptable nickname. But let me say one important thing.”
“The title itself only shows your own misguided and shallow analysis of a character. We are told not to judge a book by its cover and yet we do so anyways. But fear not! I’m sure once as a child you read those books enthusiastically to the very end rather than reading the first page and assuming the worst.”

“Ah! What a beautiful childhood, but to have it ripped away from you! Fear not, for I will use my Mary Sue body and Mary Sue ways to enlighten you! Wait for me in season 2!”

Welcome to sparta the Medaka Box fandom.
“Whether should I be either flattered or disturbed is one of the main questions here too.” He was too far gone in his interest to back out now. Add Medaka’s own enthusiasm about this problem and it was a sealed deal. Honestly for the time, he didn’t know how to feel, not really seeing himself as a model type. With a defeated sigh, a hand briskly rubbed the back of his head. He couldn’t deny that her curiosity about this was a hint of a amusing thought. While Zenkichi himself had a right to figure out.
“Though.. I never seen people dress up as you exactly for fun purposes either. Aside from that one dead give away fake from long ago.” Zenkichi added in as stepped up beside her. Could this be a stalker problem!? Did this person bother even hanging around the usual places he did too? Also noting how she was quick to jump in herself, she wasn’t going to leave him behind!
“Don’t think it’ll only be you now. This is my phony we’re talkin’ about here. So if anyone needs to correct that one, it’d be me. So let’s make it a joint effort.”
“You have far more important things to do than figure out whether you have a clone running around. Or do you not take your responsibilities as Student Council President seriously?” She said this to tease him, naturally, which was a rare occurrence for Medaka but not too rare when it came to Zenkichi. He was the exception to almost every rule with her.
“But tell me, what if this turns out to be another you? A real you? I don’t get the feeling Ajimu Najimi is behind this but…” She went quiet as her gold-brown eyes trailed off into the distance. The Flask Plan had essentially given birth to Zenkichi, right? Maybe this was just another part of it. Was there someone else pulling strings that they weren’t aware of?

“A joint effort is more than fine with me.” She said while turning back to her childhood friend, a mild smile on her face. ”Someone has to keep tabs on you, even if there’s more than one of you.”

“Two of me..?” Should he be worried? That wasn’t the type of greeting he was expecting in the least.
“Are you ok Medaka-chan? Unless there’s really someone whose inspired enough to dress as a double of mine, there’s only one real deal me.” He would question if a potential sickness caught her. Though this is Medaka we’re talking about. This did quip his interest as he turned to her.
“After becoming the new Student Council President, it wouldn’t surprise me if someone felt inspired to do such. However, this person looked just like you and responded to your name. The height was exactly the same, the hair color, skin color, and fluctuations in voice pattern were all exactly the same. I would have known a difference.” If there was anyone who would have spotted the tiniest difference between the real Zenkichi and a fake, it would have been Medaka.

“This is truly disturbing. I must investigate it further to ensure nothing too dangerous is going on.” A clone, maybe?

“Familiar faces. Wait….” Another Zenkichi? ”There are two Zenkichis?”
